    If you would like us to prepare your business tax you should bring the following

  • Make and model of your vehicle used for business/cost of vehicle/date purchased
  • A copy of your last year tax return
  • A list of assets and/or items needed to run your business/when purchased/cost
  • A list of contractors you paid $600 or more/1099's are required for these people
  • A list of expenses directly associated with your business day to day operations
  • If you had any employees have all details for payroll information available
  • List of all equipment purchased

    To prepare your taxes for rental property provide us with the following information

  • Type of property/cost of property/date purchased/age of property
  • A copy of your last year tax return
  • A list showing the amount rent collected on each unit
  • A list of repairs done to the rental property/receipts are necessary
  • A list of expenses directly associated with the day to day operations
  • Property taxes, water and sewer, electric and gas
  • 1099's received from all sources ie section 8 or rural housing incoporated
  • 1098 received from the bank/this is interest & principle paid for the year
  • These items will help us process you return much faster

    Here are some important tips you should know about starting your own business & record keeping

  • We recommend opening a business checking account as one of the first things you do after starting a new business
  • Keep supporting documents ie sales slips, paid bills, cash receipts and canceled checks If the IRS ever needs to see your records, you must be able to show proof of all your expense deductions.
  • You should keep your business checking account separate from your personal checking account
  • Keep records of all your travel and meals used during working hours
  • Decide what method you are going to use for vehicle expense actual or mileage
  • Make of list of all equipment purchases, include date of purchase & amount of purchase
